Maryland Lead Poisoning Prevention Program Compliance (HB760) to protect families from exposure to lead paint, dust, and soil, Congress has passed the following Acts.
Residential Lead-Based Paint Hazard Reduction Act (Title X)
To protect families form exposure to lead from paint, dust, and soil, Congress passed the Residential Lead-Based Paint Hazard Reduction Act of 1992, also known as Title X. This Act provides guidelines for the inspection, interim controls and abatement of lead-based paint hazards.
HUD/EPA Residential Real Estate Lead-Paint Disclosure
Section 1018 of Title X directed HUD and EPA to require the disclosure of known information on lead-based associated hazards before the sale or lease of most housing built before 1978
